Savetheinternet.com The FCC is now deciding whether to reassert its authority to protect broadband access from phone and cable company take-over! The telecom companies want to be able to block access to online information and prioritize their own content and services over their competitors'.
The FCC needs to "reclassify" broadband and protect the open Internet for good. Our online future rests on the FCC putting the public interest before phone and cable company profits.  FreePress.net

I had a little dolly.
She was left out in the rain.
And where do you suppose I found her?
Face downward, in the drain.
Her painted cheeks had vanished.
"Oh, doctor! Please come quick!"
"Your dolly, she's not ailing.
"She just needs more lipstick!"

(Poem recited to me by my beloved grandmother)

teapty.jpg (15539 bytes)
This is Jana Cornell hosting a tea party for her dolls.  I wonder which two are the guests of honor?  What fun it would have been to play over at Jana's house!

kl.jpg (79696 bytes)
Here is Karen Hopkins-Martone on the left (holding a Casey who is wearing a Barbie dress, Little Bow-Pink), and Laura Zabrocki  on the right ( holding a Talking PJ).  Laura says that the photo was taken about 1969 or 1970. Both Karen and Laura are still good friends and are both collectors today!

Xmas68.gif (39454 bytes)
Here is my doll photo.  It is Christmas Morning 1969, I believe.   I am holding my new TNT Barbie® and still NRFB Talking Stacey®.    On the left is my sister (also a Barbie collector), Jana.   I believe she is looking at her new Madame Alexander doll.

Rowens.jpg (11548 bytes)
Here is collector Rebecca Owens in 1968 with 'Giggles' the doll!

April.jpg (26092 bytes)
Here is another collector, April Chenevert, with her Barbie (top right).  Jewell is  holding her dog, JB has his truck, Debbie has her baby doll, and Mike has a dune buggy

Spring.jpg (23675 bytes)
Here is little Michelle Springthorpe  1. On the left it is Christmas Morning 1965. This lucky little girl got the Miss Barbie swing and patio set!   Do I also see an Easy Bake oven in the background?   2. Lucky little Michelle got a Fashion Stage for her birthday.  Hey Michelle, is that Marsha Brady at your party (second to left)?

Mkid.jpg (11388 bytes)
This is what Michelle Peeples wrote about her picture, " Here is one of the many pictures of me with my dolls...I am 6 years old...Christmas1973 or 1974....with LIVING SKIPPER, GROWING HAIR FRANCIE in TALKING PJ's dress and another Barbie I can't ID sitting at the table downstairs...looks like Busy Barbie..."

BRIGFR~1.gif (55698 bytes)
Here is what collector Anita (from Germany) says about the above photo of her sister's 10th birthday:
"You see her grabbing the black Francie Doll possessively (No wonder
the doll's knees are broken). I bet the doll was one of her gifts this
day... I coloured Francie a little bit so she is seen clearly."

xmas65.jpg (10106 bytes)
This photo shows Karen Clare in 1965, Okinawa, Japan.   Clare believes she is holding a Skipper doll. Notice the structure (the second Dream House?) behind her.

Here is Kim, on the left, with her Thumby doll

Here is a picture of cute little Karen Rogge opening Casey Goes Casual on her birthday in 1968. Here is what Karen wrote, "I look like I am stunned. Too bad I only have the coat and one shoe still from this set. I’d really have stars in my eyes if someone bought me this NRFB now!!"  Note Karen's TNT hairstyle, the old phonograph on the table and the lovely old vintage drapes in her home!

And later that day, into the party dress for Karen's big bash, starring Francie the birthday cake. Notice the other cake in front of the Francie cake so the girls didn’t have to spoil her with candles or eating it!

Here is what Teresa Jackson from Florida says about her childhood photo: "It is my 6th birthday in 1968. I really loved the magnetic dress up set.  There is a little doll in the photo, but I don’t remember her.  There is also a pink puppy there that is a pajama holder.  My mom was always finding creative ways to get me to pick my clothes up..!"

Christmas Day in 1960 -- Here is little Michele Dube' with her siblings. Michele is on the left with her Chatty Cathy doll. Michele says, "I got my Chatty Cathy and we were inseparable from that day. I just loved that doll!"

Here is author Kathleen Eagle at age four or five with her Toni doll.  Kathleen says, "I Wish I still had that one, but being an Air Force brat and a hard user of my toys, this resulted in their disappearance.  Maybe that's why I now care for 5 Toni dolls that someone else played with way back when..."

Here is little Frances and her family. 'Frankie" is holding her pink case by 'Ponytail.'

The above two photos show little Ellie with her blonde ponytail Barbie joining the family's holiday meal. Ellie was so happy to find that she had two photos showing her beloved doll!

Mary Jo sent this photo taken in 1965. These are her neighborhood pals; Kitty, Kim, Paula. and Mary Jo is on the right.

Adorable little Wanda with her special Barbie doll!

Here is little Patty at age eleven. She is excitedly opening her 'Dream House' on Christmas morning. This photo was submitted by Patty's daughter, Ashley, who is now a vintage collector herself.

Little Marcia Hart with her baby doll

These three photos above show little Raymond and his three sisters.  Notice PJ on Raymond's lap in the first photo.  In the second photo, Raymond is storing his toys in his 'World of Barbie' carrying case.  And finally in the last photo, we see Raymond's sisters with their dollies before Raymond was born.
