Net Neutrality Advocacy Videos

Our senators need to know that an overwhelming majority of Americans want an open Internet. We don’t want corporations blocking what we say or do online. We want every website, from biggies like Amazon and Google to sites operated by millions of small businesses and bloggers, to be treated the same,
with no fast lanes for companies with deep pockets!

Re-Roots, Paint Colors, Green Ear and Limbs/Bodies

Re-rooted Color Magic with Thermal-Magic hair

1. Re-Roots for Vintage Dolls:

Re-roots are done on a case-by-case basis only.
For prices on all re-rooting projects; including bangs only, random plugs only, re-rooting with vintage hair, etc., please Email me

*I generally use  new saran hair for re-roots. It is beautiful, silky and long enough to work with.
**Please visit my Re-root Gallery for examples of my work*

**************

*Original donor hair may be preferable for re-rooting random missing plugs, bangs
and for complete re-roots on blonde #1 - #3 vintage Barbies only. Any original donor hair must be supplied by you.
(Note: Ponytails re-rooted with vintage hair will have a shorter ponytail than the original).

Please email me to discuss your doll's specific needs.

****************

American Girls, Color Magics, TNTs, etc. will return home with a piece of cello over their hair to train it to stay in place, close to their faces. It is suggested that this be left on as much as possible.

Ponytails will arrive home with a tiny piece of invisible thread, attaching the ponytail (or other hairstyle) in place.

************************

Note:  I regret that I may not be able to complete the styling on dolls that have been previously re-rooted by another re-rooter.

2. Paint Colors for Vintage Dolls:

Lip and nail paint will be restored to its original color only, using the highest quality of acrylic paint.

It is my policy to not re-paint any #3 or #4 ponytails as faux #1s or #2s.
There are absolutely no exceptions as this, in my opinion, is highly unethical.
I will also not repair any previous attempts to make a fraudulent doll.
I will either send the doll back as-is or re-paint the doll back to her original beauty.
Again, there are no exceptions.

3. Green Ear Removal:

(Please visit this page for examples of my success)

I now offer green ear removal. I am only able to treat dolls that have not had any prior green ear treatment. This is very important!  Please email me for more information about this service.

I regret my treatment  is not available for home use.

**As I request with all restorations, please send the entire doll (not just the head only)**

Treatment time varies from a few days to a few weeks. No other treatment currently available works this quickly, even on the Fashion Queen Barbies!

*Please note: Just as Mattel did not realize the long term effects of using metal earrings in the dolls' ears, the long-term effects (if any) of this treatment are obviously not known and may not appear for many years.
Therefore please be responsible and weigh the (possible) risks vs. the benefits when proceeding with any green ear treatment!  There is no possible way for one to warranty such a treatment.
Long-term results, its success and effects are unknown and may vary!
The green may re-surface with time since green ear is so invasive and unpredictable.

Mod dolls (pink skin vinyl) and black dolls may be treated as well with varying success, however the formerly green area will need to be re-colored since the oxidation itself damages (fades) the skin coloring underneath.

Please reconsider treating dolls where the green has spread over the entire face!

Other stain removal: I generally do not offer this as part of my services, but some stains may be removable (please email me if you would like to discuss your doll's specific stain removal needs).
You may also wish to consult my
Your Questions Answered section for more information about stain removal that is easy to try at home.

4. Limbs and Bodies:

Limb and body repairs/replacements are done on a case-by-case basis.  Below are the general guidelines.

Repairs:  In general, I do not offer repairs on swingy legs (American Girl, Twist 'n Turn) nor do I repair broken Talker and Busy Barbie legs/arms (dolls not made in Japan).  However,  I have instructions for these repairs on my website.  Please click here if you would like to do this repair at home.

arms**: I should be able to switch and replace arms on your vintage and Mod dolls (made in Japan only!)

legs**:  I can add legs if the torso has none, but (in general) I will not remove legs from one body to use on another body due to the possibility that I may damage the fragile legs -- even on made in Japan dolls.  In this case it is often better to switch the arms and head to the torso with the better legs.
Splayed Stances and Swingy Arms:  I am usually able to improve both of these (made in Japan dolls only).  Your doll will return home with wrapping on her legs. Please keep this on as long as possible to re-train the stance.
Toe chip repairs:  I am now proud to offer toe chip repairs.  Please see the chart for details!
Repairing Talking Mechanisms:  I regret that I am not able to offer this repair at this time.

(**In general, body parts must be supplied, but please email me so we can discuss your specific needs**)

5. Special OOAK Projects

If you are interested a special one of a kind artist doll commission, please email me so we can discuss your project. Please note that the fees on the "Beauty Salon" page (and all other information on this site) refer to vintage/mod restorations only and do not apply to OOAK dolls.
